Supported by Georgia Power, EarthCare: The Leadership Challenge for the 21st Century exposes students to various environmental, sustainability, and leadership challenges through interactive workshops, roundtable sessions with Georgia Power business leaders, team-building exercises, and other professional development experiences.

Stay on Campus
Students accepted to attend EarthCare will spend a week at Georgia College & State University – sleeping in the dormitories, eating in the dining halls, and engaging with peers and professionals in workshops both on campus and at the offices of corporate partners. EarthCare 2025 will take place Sunday, June 8 – Friday, June 13, 2025.
Prepare in Advance
Students accepted to attend a summer leadership institute will attend an in-person summer orientation in April to learn about 21st Century Leaders’ programs and community, start making connections with peers from across the state, and begin or continue growing as a leader! If accepted, please take note of registration and confirmation deadlines.
Participate
Being part of 21st Century Leaders and attending a summer leadership institute is a special experience. If selected, get ready to network with diverse peers, passionate professionals and encouraging alumni. Take the opportunity from 21CL’s programs to learn, listen, grow and develop into the leader we believe you can be!
How to Apply
Students interested in attending a summer leadership institute must submit an application to their institute of choice.
There are a limited number of spots for each institute; students not selected to attend will be added to our waitlist.
Application FAQs
- Must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior in high school and live in the state of Georgia.
- Application for 21st Century Leaders’ summer leadership institutes is open January 6 – March 1, 2025.
- While completing the 21st Century Leaders application, you will select one of our summer leadership institutes to apply for. An application is required for both new students and for current 21CL students.
- Students who are not yet in 21st Century Leaders must also have a teacher or supervisor submit our Recommendation Form to supplement their application.
- All summer leadership institutes are residential programs on a college campus.
- All students accepted into a summer institute will be notified via email. Email is 21CL’s primary form of communication. Please be sure to check your junk or spam folders.
- There is no cost to attend EarthCare, thanks to the support of the Georgia Power Foundation.
