Student Experiences

From exploring career pathways to networking, to understanding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and corporate social responsibility, to discovering personal leadership skills and values, students get access to inspiration, connection, and transformation through the program.

Once a student joins 21st Century Leaders, they have access to participate and earn all of our experiences throughout high school.
Leadership Summits

Our summits are one-day training experiences each semester where students connect with peers, network with professionals and alumni, and work together in teams to problem-solve workplace challenges and community issues. All current students can register and gain insight into careers through workshops and panels led by summit sponsors.

Internships & Scholarships

Seniors can apply for a paid summer internship and a post-secondary education scholarship through our program. Partnering with host companies, we help bridge the gap of economic equity, offering valuable work experience and reducing financial barriers to post-secondary opportunities. 

Students must complete 3 Levels in Leadership Connect to be eligible for this experience.

Georgia Youth Leadership Awards

Each year, we recognize the leadership and impact of 21 of our students from across Georgia with our signature Georgia Youth Leadership Awards (GYLA). Students selected for the award are honored at our annual fundraising event, Be the Inspiration Gala, receive a monetary grant, and are paired with a business leader from the community to mentor and support them. 

Students must complete 1 Level in Leadership Connect to be eligible for this experience.

BE NOMINATED FOR GA YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD
Youth Ambassadors

The Youth Ambassadors are the faces and voices of 21st Century Leaders. Representing the diverse perspectives of our statewide student body, the Youth Ambassadors serve as 21CL advocates to empower other high school students across the state to join 21st Century Leaders and to connect students, volunteers, alumni and supporters. 

Students must complete 2 Levels in Leadership Connect to be eligible for this experience.

How to Access Experiences

If you've joined 21st Century Leaders through Leadership Connect, 21CLubs and/or a summer leadership institute, you have access to all of our experiences. You will receive email communications from us about when these experiences are coming up!

  • Registration for our summits opens 1-2 months before each summit takes place
  • Nominations for our Georgia Youth Leadership Awards opens October – November
